Sometimes you need a quick and easy dessert and treat that will also be completely elegant!
Yum! Chocolate, I think it's is good any time of the year. We just finished the Holidays but were starting into the Valentines day season so this recipe is a quick and easy way to impress any special someone!
When I tell you this recipe is easy I really mean it. This just takes a few ingredients chocolate and anything you want to put on top of your bark. For this time around I used crushed peppermint and another set crushed sandwich cookies. So make sure you have what you want to top it with ready and put to the side.

Pick a nice chocolate bar this is a German milk chocolate bar. Cut it up and put it in a bowl. Feel free to have a taste to make sure its yummy and good (I know I did).

I also add some chocolate chips to the cut up chocolate bar and almost fill the bowl. This gives it a nice velvety texture when melting it. Next we are going to head over to the microwave and start melting it down.

I like to melt it down in 30 second increments taking it out and stirring it every time, Putting it back in till it melted completely. If you like to melt chocolate with a double broiler feel free to do so too.

Next spread it out on a lined cookie sheet.

After you spread the chocolate out sprinkle your topping on top. In this picture its crushed peppermint.
After you have the chocolate topped. You will have to chill it, until the chocolate hardens. Once it hardens you can break it apart, it comes apart into different sized pieces.
Next you are ready to serve, easy as that! That is why I love this recipe, its nice and easy. But it looks very nice and always tastes very good! Give it a try when you need something easy and good to serve for dessert or just have a craving for some elevated chocolate.
