Hey there!
Have you ever heard of Reiki? It's a super cool form of energy healing that originated in Japan. I've learned about it for a long time through my mom, but I got my attunement more than a year ago and its helped me get into it even more. I’m excited to share what I’ve learned with you!
What Exactly is Reiki?
So, Reiki is all about channeling energy through the hands to promote healing and balance. It was developed by Dr. Mikao Usui and is based on the idea that there’s a "life force energy" flowing through all of us. When our energy is low, we might feel stressed or get sick. When it’s high, we’re happy and healthy! Seems pretty simple when it is put that way.
Why Try Reiki?
The benefits of Reiki are pretty amazing. It can help with:
Reducing stress and anxiety
Improving sleep
Relieving pain
Boosting overall well-being
There’s even some research showing positive effects, but honestly, a lot of people just love how relaxed and peaceful it makes them feel. These are just some of the benefits, it really helps getting your energy flowing.
What Happens During a Reiki Session?
If you’ve never had a Reiki session, here’s the lowdown: You lie down fully clothed on a comfy table, and the practitioner gently places their hands on or just above your body. You might feel warmth or tingling, and you’ll probably end up feeling super relaxed. Sessions usually last about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Bringing Reiki into Everyday Life
You don’t have to see a practitioner to benefit from Reiki. You can practice simple techniques at home, like mindful breathing, meditation, and setting positive intentions. Even a few minutes a day can make a big difference. Everyone harnesses it but getting attuned and learning techniques is when you will really be able to use reiki energy.
