A DIY Ghost Pal

This DIY will sure to keep you company all fall long!

DIY Dollar Tree Light-Up Ghost: Cute, Spooky, and Super Easy! I did the math one costs about $6.25 to make one of these cuties!

Hey there, Halloween lovers!

If you’re anything like me, Halloween is a time to get creative with decorations, and this year, I came up with a super easy (and adorable!) DIY light-up ghost that you’re going to love. The best part? I made it entirely with supplies from Dollar Tree! Not only is it budget-friendly, but it’s also a fun project that adds just the right amount of spooky charm to your home.

What You’ll Need:

  • A glass vase (Dollar Tree’s got plenty of sizes)

  • LED orange lights (to give that eerie glow)

  • A white microfiber towel (hello, ghost body!)

  • A black kitchen towel (for the eyes and facial features)

  • Mini pumpkins (these were actually tree decorations)

  • Hot glue gun (to hold all the magic together)

How I Made It:

  1. Add the Magic Glow: Next, I popped some orange LED lights inside the vase to light it up. When the lights are on, the ghost has this spooky, glowing effect that makes it come to life—well, almost!

  2. Building the Ghost Body: I started by wrapping the glass vase in a white microfiber towel. This gives the ghost its body and texture, and the towel drapes over the vase perfectly for that ghostly look.

  3. Making the Face: Using a black kitchen towel, I cut out simple round eyes and a spooky little mouth, then glued them to the front of the microfiber towel. You can make your ghost’s face as cute or as spooky as you want. I went for cute, of course!

  4. Pumpkin Pal: The finishing touch is a mini pumpkin that the ghost holds. I glued one to the “hands” I created with extra pieces of the microfiber towel. The mini pumpkins I found were actually meant to stick into trees, but they work perfectly as little ghost accessories!

Why You’ll Love This DIY:

This project is not only easy to put together but also super affordable since everything comes from Dollar Tree. It’s one of those fun crafts that kids and adults alike can enjoy making. Plus, the end result is something that looks like it could have come from a fancy Halloween decor store, but for a fraction of the cost!

You can place your light-up ghost on your porch to greet trick-or-treaters or even inside as a glowing centerpiece for a Halloween party. Wherever you put it, it’s bound to add that perfect touch of spooky-cute charm.

Why I’m Obsessed:

I love that this project combines both creativity and simplicity. It’s just the right mix of festive fun without breaking the bank or taking hours to make. The light-up effect is my favorite part—it totally brings the ghost to life, and I’m already planning to make a few more for different spots around the house. Who wouldn’t want a whole family of glowing ghosts?
